Having settled into my new life here in Singapore, I have finally decided to re-start my food blog. This food tour is more specialised than my last food tour of BKK. Having lived in Asia now for a few years, I've changed my perspective on food a bit, and now, good cafe food, the kind that was once the norm for me in Australia has become more like a luxury, whilst the "exotic" foods of SE Asia have become more like the norm, with most of my meals each day comprising of local cusine (which by the way I still love!). The quest to find the ultimate in cafe food has also become a source of endless entertainment for my food-loving-self, as I try to search out the best places for weekend brunch, sandwhiches, coffee, cakes, scones, and now muffins....all of those comfort foods that remind me a little bit of home.
Let's face it, after living in Asia for an extended period of time, sometimes all you want is a good sandwhich that has delicious, crusty bread, and a coffee that does not feature condensed milk, sugar syrup, that is blended with ice (although I do enjoy the local coffee and tea).
So here is my search for good cafe food in Singapore. It also includes the odd food tour with my favourite eating partner Maki in other Asian countries, as well as numerous food adventures with my brother and sister-in-law for good measure. I haven't really planned to include much local food in this blog...why?...because I'm hardly qualified to judge that! I know what and where I like as far as local food goes here...and I take the advice of lots of my local friends...but I'll leave it to the experts to talk about the local food!
Anyway, another food tour is under way.....やったああああ！....食べましょう！！
